V horní části pohlednice stojí nápis: „Císaři, vlasti a Tobě patří má láska.“ Toto poselství je nezaměnitelné: na prvním místě je císař a vlast, vůči kterým plní svou věrnost a až poté následuje děvče. V pozadí dvojice na zdi se skví, vavřínovým listem ohraničený obraz císaře Viléma II. Přesně pozoruje děj, skoro jako by železným pohledem prozařoval intimní sféru onoho milostného páru. Ve zmatených a žalem sužovaných vojácích nevidí císař prostředek použitelný k rychlému poražení nepřátel Německa na bojišti.
