Imoberen Teil der Karte liest man: „Dem Kaiser, dem Vaterland und Dir gilt meine Liebe.“ Die Botschaft ist unmissverständlich: zuerst komme Kaiser und Vaterland, dem man den Treueeid geleistet hat, erst dann das Mädchen. Im Hintergrund der beiden Personen prangt an einer Wand das mit Lorbeerblättern umrandete Gemälde des Kaiser Wilhelm II. Er sieht genau zu, fast durchleuchtet er die Intimsphäre der beide mit seinem eisernen Blick.\r\nFür verwirrte und vom Liebeskummer geplagte Soldaten hat er im Feld keine Verwendung zum \r\nschnellen Sieg gegen Deutschlands Feinde.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\nLehce ohnutá pohlednice zobrazuje mladý pár v okamžiku loučení. V horní části pohlednice stojí nápis: „Císaři, vlasti a Tobě patří má láska.“ Toto poselství je nezaměnitelné: na prvním místě je císař a vlast, vůči kterým plní svou věrnost a až poté následuje děvče. V pozadí dvojice na zdi se skví, vavřínovým listem ohraničený obraz císaře Viléma II.
