Během první světové války byl přidělen jako šéflékař k Maltézskému praporu č. 35, který měl úlohu těžce zraněné přepravovat ze všech bojišť do různých nemocnic v zázemí. Während des Ersten Weltkrieges wurde Stini als Chefarzt dem Maltesterkorps Nr. 35 zugeteilt, dessen Aufgabe es war, Schwerverletzte von unterschiedlichen Kampfplätzen in Krankenhäuser ins Hinterland zu überführen. Auf diesen Reisen begleitete ihn sein Sohn Dr. Walter Stini.
