Freyung-Grafenau) besitzt einige Erinnerungsstücke an ihren Onkel Franz Waldhauser, den Bruder ihrer Mutter, der im Ersten Weltkrieg kämpfte. Sie wusste viel über ihre Familie und auch den Menschen Josef Waldhauser und seine Lebensumstände zu erzählen, angefangen von seiner schulischen Ausbildung bis hin zu seinem Tode im Lazarett in der Kriegsgefangenschaft. Ihren Bericht können Sie in mehreren Teilen nachhören: <a href="/items/show/514"> Interview Teil 1-3 </a>, <a href="/items/show/515"> Interview Teil 4-5.</a> Das Trauerband für ihren Onkel trägt den Schriftzug „ Unserem in Italien gefallenen lieben Sohne Franz Waldhauser“ auf der linke Seite des Bandes sowie den zweiten Schriftzug „Gewidmet von seinen Eltern und Geschwister“ auf der linken Seite des Bandes. Das Band selbst ist weiß, die beiden Schriftzüge schwarz. Das Band ist am oberen und unteren Rand mit je einer dicken schwarzen Linie bedruckt, die von je einer weiteren dünnen Linie umgeben sind. Die Trauerschleife ist ca. 3 Meter lang. --- V rodinném archivu Marie Scholzové z Riedlhütte (okres Freyung-Grafenau) se nachází několik vzpomínkových předmětů od jejího strýce Franze Waldhausera, bratra její matky, který bojoval v první světové válce. Marie Scholzová vypráví mnoho o své rodině, stejně jako o osobě Josefa Waldhausera a jeho životních okolnostech, počínaje jeho školním vzděláním až po jeho smrt v lazaretu ve válečném zajetí. Poslechnout si její vyprávění je možné v audionahrávce: <a href="/items/show/514">Rozhovor část 1-3</a>, <a href="/items/show/515"> Rozhovor část 4-5.</a> Přibližně 3 metry dlouhá smuteční stuha připomínající památku jejího strýce nese nápis „Našemu milovanému v Itálii padlému synovi Franzi Waldhauserovi“. Na protilehlé straně pásky se nachází druhý nápis „Věnováno rodiči a sourozenci“. Samotná stuha je bílá, nápisy jsou černé. Páska je na horním a dolním okraji potištěna širokými černými liniemi, které jsou obklopeny dalšími tenkými linkami.
