Auf der Rückseite wurden später mit Maschinenschrift die Namen der abgebildeten Männer vermerkt: „Regimentsführer Major Stepan. Regimentsadjutant Hauptmann Janeček. Stallbursche.“ Vojtěch trat zu Beginn des Krieges zunächst der österreichischen Armee bei. Später schloss er sich wie auch sein Bruder František der Tschechoslowakischen Legion in Russland an und kämpfte somit gegen die Mittelmächte, auf deren Seite auch der jüngere Bruder Vít eingesetzt war. Vojtěch und František kehrten erst 1920 wieder nach Hause zurück. --- Fotografie zobrazuje Vojtěcha Janečka při vyjížďce do lesíku u Nikolajevska v Rusku v roce 1919. Na zadní stranu byla později strojovým písmem připsána jména zobrazených mužů: „Velitel pluku major Stepan. Plukovní pobočník kapitán Janeček. Podkoní“ Vojtěch narukoval do rakousko-uherské armády, ale později se stejně jako jeho bratr František připojil k československým legiím v Rusku, které bojovaly proti Ústředním mocnostem. Tím pádem se ocitl na opačné straně konfliktu, než jeho mladší bratr Vít, který bojoval v řadách rakousko-uherské armády. Sie waren zunächst in die österreichische Armee eingerückt und schlossen sich später der Tschechoslowakischen Legion in Russland an. Die Fotografie zeigt einen Teil der Familie Janeček bei der Rückkehr der Brüder am Bahnhof in Budweis 1920. Zu sehen sind die Eltern Františka und František Janeček, Vojtěch Janeček in der Uniform der Legionäre sowie der jüngste Bruder Jan Janeček.
