Tato černobílá fotografie zobrazuje Johanna Kerna v uniformě na ateliérové fotografii. Pravou nohu má nataženou, levá ruka drží pásek, pravou rukou sevřenou v pěst se opírá o vedle něj stojící stůl. U levé nohy má meč, respektive šavli v pouzdru připevněném na opasku. Zvláštní na této fotografii je bohatě zdobený mosazný rám. Samotný rámeček je na několika místech zkorodovaný. Na zadní straně je upevněna podpěra sloužící k postavení obrazu. Markowetz stammte aus Winterberg im Böhmerwald und geriet bereits 1914 in Russland in Kriegsgefangenschaft, aus der er erst 1920 zurückkehren konnte. Für Sepp Sager ist die Tonbandaufnahme, auf der sein Großvater über die Kriegserlebnisse berichtet, von besonderer Bedeutung. Er fertigte diese Aufnahme kurz vor dem 92. Geburtstag von Josef Markowetz an. --- V tomto rozhovoru vypráví Sepp Sager o válečných zkušenostech a návratu svého dědečka Josefa Markowtze. Markowetz, který pocházel z Vimperku na Šumavě, se již v roce 1914 dostal do ruského zajetí, ze kterého se vrátil teprve v roce 1920. Nahrávka na magnetonové pásce, na které jeho dědeček vypráví o svých zážitcích z války, má pro Seppa Sagera neobyčejný význam. Tuto nahrávku pořídil těsně před 92. narozeninami Josefa Markowtze. Die fortlaufenden Nummern Nr. 33 bis Nr. 48 auf den Feldpostkarten weisen darauf hin, dass es sich bei den "Ansichtskarten vom westlichen Kriegsschauplatz" um eine ganze Postkartenreihe handelt, die für die deutsche Front und Heimatfront betimmt sein musste. Womöglich sollten die Bilder einen Eindruck von der überlegenen deutschen Militärmacht, Ordnung und Disziplin im bereits eroberten und besetzten Land des "Erbfeindes" vermitteln. Fest steht: Die Rückseite der Feldpostkarten verrät, dass der deutsche Unternehmer Heinrich Knobloch aus Blasewitz bei Dresden für die "Auslieferung" verantwortlich zeichnet. Mit dem offenbar deutschland- wie frontweiten Vertrieb der beschreibbaren und per Post versendbaren Momentaufnahmen leistete er seinen Beitrag zur "hurrapatriotischen" Kriegspropaganda. Unzweifelhaft ist auch, dass man sich während des Ersten Weltkrieges in einem wohlhabenden Villenort wie Blasewitz von Krieg und Zerstörung, Gewalt und Tod sowie militärischer Besatzung, Hunger und Not sicher wähnen konnte.
