Die Postkarte zeigt einen Soldaten neben einem kleinen Weihnachtsbaum sitzend. Der Text auf der Rückseite verrät die Datierung der Karte: „Meinem lb. Mitkämpfer zur frdl. Erinnerung an seinen Führer; Weihnachten 1915; Leutn. d. R. K. f. 7/18“.
Weihnachten 1915 war Anton Reus´ "Res.-Inf.Regt. No 18. 7. Kompagnie" (so der Stempel auf der Rückseite) in den Hochvogesen in Frankreich eingesetzt, er muss also die Weihnachtszeit dort verbracht haben.

Tento pohled zachycuje vojáka sedícího vedle vánočního stromečku. Text na zadní straně prozrazuje datum pořízení fotografie: „Mému spolubojovníkovi jako vzpomínka na jeho velitele, Vánoce 1915, plukovník d. R. K. f. 7/18“.
O Vánocích roku 1915 byla kompanie Antona Reuse (dle razítka na zadní straně konkrétně "Res.-Inf.Regt. No 18. 7. Kompagnie") nasazena ve Vogézech ve Francii.

Die Fotografie zeigt das 18. Bayerische Reserve-Infanterieregiment 7. Kompagnie. Die Kompagnie wurde in einem Innenhof fotografiert, in der Mitte erkennt man den Kompagnieführer Anton Reus auf einem Pferd. Zwei Frauen beobachten die Szenerie aus einem Fenster heraus.
Die Fotografie wurde nicht als Feldpost verschickt. Ein Vermerk auf der Vorderseite verrät uns allerdings die Datierung auf das Jahr 1916 und der Stempel des Fotografen auf der Rückseite "J. Christoph. Photograph. Colmar i. E." gibt einen Hinweis auf die Stationierung der Kompagnie in den französischen Vogesen.

Tato fotografie zobrazuje 7. kompanii Královského bavorského záložního pěšího pluku č. 18. Kompanie byla fotografována ve dvoře kasáren, uprostřed lze rozpoznat velitele kompanie Antona Reuse na svém koni. Dvě ženy celou událost pozorují z okna.
Fotografie nebyla odeslána poštou. Nicméně poznámka na přední straně nám prozrazuje datum jejího pořízení – rok 1916 – a z razítka fotografa na zadní straně - "J. Christoph. Photograph. Colmar i. E.". - se dozvídáme o umístění kompanie ve francouzských Vogézech.

Den Großteil der Kriegsjahre 1915 und 1916 verbrachte Anton Reus an der Westfront in den französischen Vogesen. Von dort brachte er so genannte "Fraternisierungsbriefe" mit: Kurze Mitteilungen, die französische Soldaten in die deutschen Schützengräben warfen.
Die deutsche Übersetzung des Briefes lautet: „Wir haben im Augenblick keine Buchsen mehr, nichtsdestoweniger versprechen wir euch, euch so viele wie möglich zu schicken, sobald wir wieder welche haben können. Lasst euch nicht sehen bis wir es euch sagen werden, wir haben strenge Befehle! (sagt das euren Kameraden) Vielen Dank für die Zigarren und Zigaretten.“

Velkou část let 1915 a 1916 strávil Anton Reus na západní frontě ve francouzských Vogézech. Odtud si přivezl také několik vzkazů, které francouzští vojáci házeli německým vojákům do zákopů.
Překlad tohoto vzkazu zní: „Nemáme už žádné konzervy, nicméně vám slibujeme, že vám jich co nejvíc pošleme, až je zase budeme mít. Neukazujte se, dokud vám neřekneme, máme přísné rozkazy (řekněte to vaším kamarádům) Mnoho díků za ty doutníky a cigarety“.

Den Großteil der Kriegsjahre 1915 und 1916 verbrachte Anton Reus an der Westfront in den französischen Vogesen. Von dort brachte er so genannte "Fraternisierungsbriefe" mit: Kurze Mitteilungen, die französische Soldaten in die deutschen Schützengräben warfen.
