Drei der vier Brüder der Familie Janeček kämpften im Ersten Weltkrieg: František, Vojtěch und Vít wurden zunächst in die österreichische Armee eingezogen. Vít kämpfte im 91er Regiment an der italienischen Front, František und Vojtěch jedoch liefen später in Russland zur Tschechoslowakischen Legion über und kehrten erst 1920 zurück. In dem Interview erzählt Jitka Saková von den familiären Erinnerungsstücken aus der Zeit des Ersten Weltkriegs. Übersetzung des tschechischen Originals: „Also das sind Fotografien aus dem Familienarchiv aus der Zeit des Ersten Weltkriegs, leider sind über die langen Jahre nur wenige von ihnen erhalten geblieben, das sind eher Fragmente und darum geben wir in der Familie umso mehr auf sie Acht. Tři ze čtyř bratrů Janečkových bojovali v první světové válce: František, Vojtěch a Vít nejprve narukovali do rakousko-uherské armády. Von ihren Sorgen um ihn und ihren Paketen mit Leckereien erfährt man nur indirekt durch seine Antworten. Der erste erhaltene Brief datiert auf den 1. April 1915. Er spiegelt die praktischen Alltagssorgen, die die Eheleute in zahlreichen Nachrichten über die weite Entfernung hinweg miteinander besprachen. Maria berichtet von Geschäftlichem, ihren gesundheitlichen Problemen, Neuigkeiten aus dem Bekanntenkreis und von ihrer Freude über die neue Magd. Ein dauerhaftes Thema in der Korrespondenz der Eheleute sind die Urlaubsgesuche für ihn, die nur mit amtlicher Bestätigung von der Heimatgemeinde genehmigt werden. Sie drückt ihre Hoffnung auf eine baldige Genehmigung aus, “weil mans hört, daß schon mehrere Landsturmleute da sind auf 4 Wochen”. Dieser Brief enthält als einer der wenigen auch einen Hinweis darauf, wie Maria unter der Abwesenheit ihres Mannes leidet: Sie schreibt, “daß ich schon um etliche Pfund geringer wurde, seitdem Du fort bist”. Transkription des Briefes siehe unten. --- Z doby prvních dvou měsíců nepřítomnosti Andrease Glasera se nedochovaly žádné dopisy od jeho ženy. O její starosti o něho a balíčcích s cukrovinkami, které mu posílala, se dozvídáme jen nepřímo z jeho odpovědí. Nejstarší dochovaný dopis, který Maria Glaserová adresovala svému choti, pochází ze dne 1. dubna 1915. Dopis je svědectvím o každodenních starostech, o kterých se manželé Glaserovi i přes velkou vzdálenost prostřednictvím korespondence radili. Maria píše o pracovních a obchodních záležitostech, zdravotních problémech, o novinkách z okruhu rodinných známých a o radosti z nové děvečky. Přetrvávajícím tématem v korespondenci manželů jsou žádosti o propuštění Andrease na dovolenou. Dovolená může být schválena jen s oficiálním potvrzením domovské obce. Maria zde vyjadřuje svou naději na rychlé schválení, „protože se proslýchá, že už několik příslušníků Landsturmu je doma na 4 týdny“. V tomto dopise jako v jednom z mála se Marie rovněž zmiňuje o útrapách způsobených nepřítomností jejího manžela. Píše: „už jsem zhubla několik liber od té doby, co jsi pryč.“ Přepis dopisu (německy): "Oberseilberg, den 1. April 1915 Lieber Andre! Deine zwei Briefe vom 27. U. 28. zugleich eine Karte von Deinem Kameraden erhalten, besten Dank. Lieber Andere! Ich habe dem Roscher das Geld schon am 30. März fortgeschickt 167.- von dem Glas, das Du am 13. Oktober erhieltst, geliehen hats mir der Johann, weil ich von Seidl noch nichts bekommen hab für den Stier. Ich meine doch gewiß, daß Du einen Urlaub bekommst, weil mans hört, daß schon mehrere Landsturmleute da sind auf 4 Wochen. Keine Gendarmen waren noch nicht da, die gehst immer gnädig mit Haussuchungen halten, wie viel daß die Leute noch Korn und Hafer haben. Wenn Du einen Urlaub bekommst, muss ich Dir vielleicht entgegen fahren bis nach Passau, wie Du willst, das schreibe mir. Lieber Andere! Ein Geld kannst Du zu jeder Zeit haben, wennst Du eins brauchst, dann schreib es mir. Den Kreuzweg in der Kapelle hat der Schneiderseppel gebetet. Dem Weidinger kannst Du schreiben wegen der Viehwaage, weils mir heute noch nicht recht ist, daß wirs haben, es ist schon bereits ein Jahr und wir haben noch keine 3 Mark eingenommen. Darf Dich nicht beleidigen. Dem Senzl seine Brüder, der Hans ist in Belgien und der Sepp ist in Puchheim bei München in den Gefangenen hüten. Lieber Andere! Viel Neuigkeiten kann ich Dir nicht schreiben, weil so alles beim alten ist. Die Hödlin fahrt am Karfreitag nach Mannheim, weil das Resl immer schwer krank ist und wenns noch transportfähig ist, nimmt sie es mit nach Hause. Und auch war die junge Piusin schwer krank, mußten den Geistlichen und den Arzt holen. Sie hat sich verdorben in der Re-Zeit, hat Lungenentzündung und Nierenstein-Kolik gehabt, geht ihr schon besser.
