Am 25. Januar 1915 wurde er zum Heeresdienst einberufen und dem 11. Infanterieregiment 12. Kompanie in Regensburg zugeteilt. Ende Juni 1915 kam er ins Feld. Der Leutnant und Kompanieführer der 12. Kompanie, teilte mit, dass der Infanterist Konrad Kronschnabl eine große Anzahl von Gefechten unverwundet mitgemacht hatte. Am 21. Feb. 1916 ist er zu St. Michiel (Frankreich) durch ein Granate im Unterstand verschüttet worden und dadurch erstickt. Er wurde auf dem Militärfriedhof St. Michiel beerdigt. Zwei weitere Brüder Georg und Michael mussten in diesem unsinnigen Krieg ebenfalls ihr Leben lassen. Kompanie, teilte mit, dass der Infanterist Konrad Kronschnabl eine große Anzahl von Gefechten unverwundet mitgemacht hatte. Am 21. Feb. 1916 ist er zu St. Michiel (Frankreich) durch ein Granate im Unterstand verschüttet worden und dadurch erstickt. Er wurde auf dem Militärfriedhof St. Michiel beerdigt. Zwei weitere Brüder Georg und Michael mussten in diesem unsinnigen Krieg ebenfalls ihr Leben lassen.
