Das Bild ist mit Wachsstiften auf grauem Karton gemalt und in dunklen Farben gehalten. Jede Station im Leben des Anton Iglhaut wurde von Herrn Mühlbauer mit dem aus seiner Sicht charakteristischen Attributen für diesen Lebensabschnitt versehen. \r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n Na obraze „Ze života mého pradědečka“ tematizuje pan Mühlbauer čtyři etapy v životě Antona Iglhauta: Iglhaut v roce 1905 jako vitální mladý muž s hospodářstvím a dětmi, v roce 1916 jako vojenský zdravotník, zde jen se stínem sebe sama. 1940 opět na statku v Schlondorfu a 1972, jako starý muž s knírkem a bonbony proti kašli, jak ho pan Mühlbauer poznal jako dítě. Obraz je malován voskovými pastelkami na šedém kartonu a nese se v tmavých barvách. Dem aufmerksamen Besucher begegnen die eingemeißelten Namen der beiden jungen Soldaten auf dem Denkmal wieder, die respektive 1917 an der Südtiroler Front und 1918 an der Westfront den damals sogenannten \"Heldentod fürs Vaterland\" starben: der vierunddreißigjährige Ludwig Dellawalle und der achtzehnjährige Jüngling Ludwig Hackl.\r\n \r\nNach dem Kriegsende 1918 stellte sich in ganz Deutschland die Frage, wie man in Denkmalsbauten dem Massentod aus einem Zwei-, wenn nicht gar Dreifrontenkrieg angesichts der Niederlage Sinn und Würde geben sollte. Auch in Finsterau war nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg \"der monumentale Gefallenenkult des 19. Jahrhunderts\" (Martin Sabrow) im Grunde genommen angeschlagen, der dem „Opfertod für das Vaterland“ (Sabrow) gedachte, \"für eine Vergangenheit und Zukunft zusammenführende Sinnstiftung\" (Sabrow) stand und \"die Totentrauer mit dem Siegeskranz\" verband, um \"den Beitrag der Helden zur Wiedergeburt des Vaterlandes\" zu preisen. Martin Sabrow zufolge wurde in Deutschland \"erbittert darum gestritten, ob die Trauer um die Opfer oder die Ehrung der Helden im Vordergrund zu stehen habe\". Umso erstaunlicher kann die Zeichen- und Symbolsprache zur Erinnerung an den großen Krieg von 1914 - 1918 heute erscheinen, auf welche man sich in Finsterau zur Zeit der Weimarer Republik offensichtlich geeinigt hatte. Wohl befindet sich auch beim Finsterauer Krieger-Denkmal ein Krieger in Uniform und mit Stahlhelm erhöht auf einem Sockel. Dennoch kniet der Soldat: Mit gesenktem Haupt, geschlossenen Augen, ernstem bzw. melancholischem und demütigem Gesicht und gefalteten Händen stützt sich der \"Held\" nachdenklich, betend oder meditierend auf seinem Gewehr ab. Der in Stein dargestellte Soldat erscheint somit eigentlich weder \"als heimkehrender Bürger (...), der seine militärische Pflicht erfüllt hat\" (Sabrow), noch wirklich \"als Krieger, der das heroische Soldatentum verkörpert\" (Sabrow). Das Finsterauer Kriegerdenkmal zum Ersten Weltkrieg scheint daher nur dem Namen nach \"den gefallenen Helden\" gewidmet zu sein: Dies kann als ein Zugeständnis an die „Nation“ angesehen werden. Dennoch scheint die Zeichen- und Symbolsprache nicht ausdrücklich und eineindeutig darauf hinzuweisen, dass mit Dieter Langewiesches Worten die Nation \"das Zentrale\" sei und \"ihr zu dienen\" zur politisch-gesellschaftlichen Schlüsselaufgabe der Kirche in der \"Nation\" wäre. Der kniende Soldat auf dem Sockel umrahmt nämlich zusammen mit einem unübersehbar zentral platzierten Kreuz aus Stein am Fuße des Denkmals die Namen der vermeintlichen \"Helden\". Die Nation als \"Letztwert\" (Langewiesche) scheint im meditativ-nachdenklichen Gesamteindruck des Finsterauer Kriegerdenkmals ein wenig relativiert zu sein: Die \"Pfarrei Finsterau\" scheint die \"Nation\" mit dem Denkmal weder direkt zu heiligen noch ihr offen und ausschließlich zu dienen. An der Westfront geriet Josef Fruth ca. 1918 in französische Kriegsgefangenschaft. Dirk Walter zufolge war die Kriegsgefangenschaft an der Westfront \"unter den deutschen Soldaten berüchtigt, ja gefürchtet, weil sie durch zahlreiche Schikanen und Drangsalierungen gekennzeichnet war. Rund 424 000 deutsche Soldaten gerieten im Verlauf des Krieges in französische Gefangenschaft und kehrten in aller Regel erst nach Kriegsende zurück\" (Dirk Walter, in: http://www.merkur.de/bayern/erster-weltkrieg-kriegsgefangenschaft-modernes-sklaventum-3622148.html).\r\n \r\nDie Gründe hierfür liegen in den deutsch-französischen Beziehungen selbst: Allerspätestens seit Napoleons Feldzügen sahen sich Deutsche und Franzosen gegenseitig als \"Erbfeinde\". Die Führer der französischen Kriegsregierung wie Georges Clémenceau (1841 - 1929), Ministerpräsident und zugleich Kriegsminister von 1917 bis 1920, hatten die für Frankreich demütigenden Ergebnisse aus der Niederlage im deutsch-französischen Krieg von 1870/71 weder vergessen noch überwunden (Reparationszahlungen in Höhe von 5 Milliarden Gold-Francs; Abtretung von Elsaß und Lothringen). Clémenceau sollte zunächst den deutschen Kriegsgefangenen, ab 1919 ganz Deutschland die aus der Schmach von 1870/71 gezogenen Lehren spüren lassen. \r\n\r\nIm Interviewmitschnitt berichtet Frau Theresia Groß, geborene Ebertsberger, aus Perlesreut (Landkreis Freyung-Grafenau), wie sie über die Schwester ihres Ehemannes Josef Groß eine Schlüsselepisode von Leid, Not und Elend aus Josef Fruths französischer Kriegsgefangenschaft erfuhr, bevor dieser gemäß den von Frankreich diktierten Bedingungen um 1920 in die Heimat nach Hatzerreut im Bayerischen Wald zurückkehren konnte. \r\n\r\nDie Forschung weiß Theresia Groß´ mündlichen Bericht im Wesentlichen zu bestätigen: „In Frankreich wurden die deutschen Gefangenen zu schwerer Arbeit eingesetzt (…) Frankreich behielt die Deutschen nach Ende der Kampfhandlungen als Teil seiner Reparationsforderungen zurück und setzte sie in großem Umfang zu Aufräumarbeiten im ehemaligen Kampfgebiet ein (…) Im Herbst 1919 wurden zuerst die Schwerverwundeten heimtransportiert. Nach Inkrafttreten des Versailler Friedensvertrages begann ab dem 20. Februar 1920 der Heimtransport der übrigen Deutschen (…) Alleine über 10.000 Bayern wurden so 1920 repatriiert\". Vydával jej stát, ve kterém se uprchlík zdržoval. Pas opravňoval uprchlíka k tomu, aby se mohl navrátit do státu, který tento doklad vydal.
