Hat mich wieder sehr gefreut, wenn man von der Heimat wieder etwas erfährt, und heute vormittags habe ich Zeit, daß ich Euch schreibe. Denn ich komme mittags 12 Uhr auf die Batterie-Wache. Bei Nacht sind Doppelposten, da kommt auch mein Kollege, der Hertl von Breitenberg. Der ist aber nur bei Nacht. Ich bin aber von Samstag 12 Uhr Mittag bis Sonntag 12 Uhr Mittag und da haben wir ¾ Stunden zu gehen von Eckbolsheim und das beste ist, daß bei Nacht zwei sind. Ist es doch nicht so langweilig und vergeht die Zeit schneller. Liebe Mari, geschrieben hat mir der Schauer auch schon, ich solle bald nachkommen. Ich habe aber keine Freude. Mir geht es in Eckbolsheim auch nicht schlecht. Der Bachschuster und die Pasterin hat mir auch schon geschrieben, daß es auf dem Stammtisch nicht mehr so lustig ist. Und heute schreibe ich auch dem Doktor Pfau u. dem Herrn Pfarrer von Grainet, weil ich Zeit habe. Denn die zwei Stunden vergehen schon, dann hat man wieder 4 Stunden frei. Liebe Mari, wegen dem Kuchen lasse es gut sein, denn bis ich ihn bekomme, ist er doch schon alt und ich verlange mir die Sache nicht. So gern wennst einen machen willst, so gib den Buben für mich und sage, er ist von mir. Liebe Mari, wegen dem Bankzins da darfst nur die Quittungen anschauen. Wennst den Stier noch nichts geht so gehet zum Puffer, daß er an die Bank schreibt auf 2 Monat Verlängerung. Der tut es ja gern und wenns einmal zum Anbauen wird, dann gehe zum Herrn Hauptlehrer, daß er herein schreibt, durch die Gemeinde bestätigt, und ich glaube sicherlich, daß ich 14 Tage und kann sein auch 3 Wochen Urlaub bekomme. Denn angebaut muß auch werden. Es wäre nicht so schlecht, wenn man 3 Wochen von der Geschichte los wäre. Und grüße mir den Sepp, er soll alle Tage einen Rosenkranz beten, daß er nicht einrücken darf, denn er hat keinen Begriff. Da muß man das Maul halten und wenn man Recht auch hatte. Aber schaden tut es gar keinem, weil draußen da werden Sprüch gemacht, aber wenns einmal da sind, da kuschens sich. Was ist es mit der Senzl? Ist ihr die Zeit noch lang um den Max? Sie muß ihr ganz anders denken, es hilft nichts. Ein paar Vaterunser beten, das ist das beste was man tun kann. Und schreibt mir auch von dem Leichengottesdienst. Sind viele Veteranen gewesen? Hier war er die meiste Zeit stationiert. Der Brief ist auf den 13. Februar 1915 datiert. Die erste erhaltene Postkarte an seine Frau hatte er in Rheinland-Pfalz verfasst, sie ist undatiert. \r\n\r\nGlaser erzählt hierin seiner Frau, welche Aufgaben er im Garnisonsdienst erfüllen muss, für den er tauglich befunden worden war. Er bietet sie um die Zusendung von Zigarren und Wollsocken und gibt ihr Anweisungen, wie sie einige Geldzahlungen erledigen solle. Offenbar hatte sie sich in einem vorherigen Brief Sorgen gemacht, ob er seine Christenpflicht erfüllen könne und er beruhigt sie “Es ist auch im Elsaß der nämliche Herrgot wie bei uns.”. \r\n\r\nTranskription des Briefes siehe unten.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\nTento dopis je první z mnoha, které napsal Andreas Glaser své ženě Marii z Eckbolsheimu poblíž Štrasburku, kde pobýval většinu času. Vůbec první pohlednici, kterou Maria od Andrease obdržela, napsal v Porýní-Falci, zapomněl ji však opatřit datem.  \r\n\r\nAndreas  Glaser byl shledán schopným pro výkon posádkové služby. V dopise ze 13. února 1915 vypráví své ženě o úkolech, které musí v rámci posádkové služby plnit,  prosí ji o zaslání doutníků a vlněných ponožek a vysvětluje, jak se provádějí některé peněžní platby. Maria Glaserová si očividně dělala v předchozím dopise obavy, zda má její muž možnost plnit svou křesťanskou povinnost, ten ji ujistil „že i v Alsasku je stejný Pán Bůh jako u nás.“ \r\n \r\nPřepis dopisu (německy): \r\n\r\n\"Eckbolsheim, den 13. Feb. 1915\r\nLiebe Mari!\r\nIch muß Dir mitteilen, es ist gestern ein Bataillons-Befehl gekommen, wenn zum Beispiel jemand zu Hause schwer erkrankt oder ein Todesfall vorkommen würde, so müsstet ihr auf die Ersatzbatterie in Eckbolsheim telegrafieren, dann bekomme ich Urlaub. Aber bei dem Telegramm muß schon beigefügt werden: Amtliche Bestätigung folgt. Denn das muß dann von der Gemeinde nachgeschickt werden. Aber jetzt braucht es noch nicht, ich schreib es nur, daß wenn was vorkommen soll, daß Du es weißt, was Du machen mußt. Jetzt gewöhne ich mich schon besser ein, aber am Anfang hat mir gar nichts gefallen. Dienst haben wir sehr wenig, im Vormittag 2 bis 3 Stunden u. Nachmittag auch so was, aber nur keine Freude hat man halt nicht mehr daran, und wie Du jetzt geschrieben hast, was das ist, Garnisonsdienst, das ist, daß ich muß auch Exerzieren und alles mitmachen wie die anderen. Nur wenn einige fort müssen, nach Belgien, Antwerpen oder Russland, da kommen die fort, die Felddienst tauglich sind, und in die Feuerstellung da komme ich nie, da brauchst keine Angst zu haben. Heute habe ich gehört, daß es 26 Tausend Russen gefangen haben sollen es ist von 8 bis 10 Uhr gebracht worden. Liebe Mari, keinen Hunger habe ich nicht, zu Essen haben wir genug. Wennst mir was schicken willst, kannst mir ein Kistel Cigarren schicken, denn mit der Pfeife habe ich mich ausgeschmiert, denn im Boiger da geht der Atem aus, bis ich einmal eine andere bekomme. Eine solche wenn ich hätte, wie dem Karl die seine war. Liebe Mari, wegen dem Geld da zahle zuerst die Gemeinde-Umlage. Von Göttl da bekommen wir so noch 24 M und dem Sepp gib jetzt 50 M, denn am 27. Feb. mußt den Bankzins nach München schicken und beim Schmied, der soll nur noch ein wenig warten und auf Orsay für den Tabak 18 M. Liebe Mari, wegen dem Hackl Vizi, da liegt gar nichts daran, den lasst nur gehen. Am Sonntag da waren wir in der Kirche, da hat der Pfarrer eine Predigt gehabt, ich glaube, daß nicht 5 Mann waren, die nicht geweint haben. Es ist auch im Elsaß der nämliche Herrgott wie bei uns. Ich muß jetzt das Schreiben schließen, sonst wird Dir das Lesen zuwider. Ein Paar Socken kannst mir schicken, aber schafwollene.
